Late 2021 I got contacted by a sustainable house production company based in the USA, Bamboo Living, looking for a Photographer in Ho Chi Minh City to help them create a photography library of the craftsmanship of their hand made bamboo houses and furniture.
They really wanted to document everything from the harvest in the jungle, portraits of the craftsmen and women who make their wonderful homes and to really highlight the detail put into the buildings.
Needless to say I was really excited to shoot this project as the photography was to be shot in Tam Ky, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
When making a library I had to carefully think about how to capture as many aspects of the people and the production as possible. I also wanted to make sure there was negative fill in the shots so that the client had enough room to place copywriting if needed. Lastly I wanted some elemental shots of trees, wood and the tools used to highlight more details about how these buildings and furniture are made.

After this shoot was finished I heard back from the client that they were really happy with the results and even used the images in a book about the sustainability of bamboo housing.
This was a really great project and I hope to be able to work with them more in the future.
Here are some behind the scenes from the shoot as well.
