Cherry, Buhler’s APAC head of communications, reached out about a testimonial video for a venture capital backed enterprise in Singapore producing sustainable plant-based proteins using Buhler’s extrusion technology. We flew to Singapore to research the project, visit the facility, and spend time at Buhler’s Protein Innovation Centre in Woodlands to understand the science behind turning plant ingredients into meat substitutes at commercial scale.
The film was built to work at trade shows, showing prospective customers across Southeast Asia what Buhler’s engineering solutions look like when they are running in a real production environment.

Description
SGProtein is Singapore’s first contract manufacturing facility for plant-based food production, with an annual capacity of 3,000 tonnes. The company supports startups and multinationals scaling their meat alternative products for domestic and export markets. The facility runs a Buhler engineered production line that converts plant ingredients into textured protein at commercial volume, and it feeds directly into Singapore’s “30 by 30” goal of producing 30 percent of the country’s food locally by 2030.
