Battery Slurry Technology Manufacturing in Shanghai
Services Provided
Bühler hired us to film a live lithium-ion battery production line at Lishen, just outside Shanghai. The piece was a customer story about why a Swiss machinery company and a Chinese battery giant had spent years building a new electrode slurry process together.
Filming inside an active battery plant is not like any other industrial shoot. Dust controls, temperature limits, no-go zones around the mixers, and a separate permit for every camera and drone movement on the floor. We handled all of it, and our producer translated between the engineering teams in real time so the technical accuracy held up under Bühler’s review back in Uzwil.
- Director’s treatment and interview script developed with Bühler’s marketing team in Switzerland
- Full crew on the ground: director, DOP, AD, gaffer, grips, ACs, producer, PAs
- Drone permits and pilot for interior and exterior factory shots
- Bilingual interviews with Lishen and Bühler engineers
- Offline, online, colour grade, sound design, music

Description
Bühler and Lishen have been working on lithium-ion battery production together for more than a decade. What they built is something the rest of the industry has spent years trying to do: a continuous mixing process for electrode slurries. The traditional method mixes batch by batch in large agitator vessels. Bühler and Lishen replaced that with a twin-screw extruder that runs the slurry continuously through the line.
Bühler’s team in Uzwil came to us because the shoot was inside a sensitive Chinese battery plant and needed a crew that could work bilingually on set without slowing the line down. We have been making industrial customer stories in Asia for more than 20 years. Post happened back at our Ho Chi Minh City studio. Bühler’s battery division now uses the film at trade shows and in sales conversations with other manufacturers looking at the continuous mixing process for themselves.
