This was the first project we worked on with Richard from Camp Creative, and it set the tone for everything that followed. Richard wanted to find the source of water and culture in Vietnam and connect that to the importance of water in Ho Chi Minh City and its people. The film needed to show how ABB’s solutions minimize waste and increase water supply to one of the fastest growing cities in Southeast Asia.
We provided Richard with location scouting, permitting, drone pilots, equipment, and a full crew to implement his creative vision in Vietnam. It was the start of a working relationship that led to multiple projects together across Asia.

Description
Saigon Water Supply Corporation (SAWACO) manages the water for Ho Chi Minh City, a city whose pipe infrastructure is 60 to 70 years old and was losing nearly 30 percent of its potable water to leaks and damaged pipes. ABB deployed their digital monitoring and control technology to detect leaks, manage network incidents in real time, and reduce that waste. The projected savings are significant: 50 million cubic metres of water per year and production cost reductions of over 10 million dollars annually.
We interviewed the head of SAWACO, who spoke on camera about how ABB’s solutions delivered more water to citizens at a fraction of the cost of building new infrastructure. That kind of testimony from the person responsible for an entire city’s water supply carries serious weight. ABB’s sales team used this Ho Chi Minh City testimonial video across Asia, and it had a direct impact on their pipeline. In fact, this film was one of the factors that convinced Singapore’s PUB to invest in the same type of project with ABB.
