Testimonial Video Production for Buhler in Dhaka, Bangladesh
City Group’s Rupshi Mill, South Asia’s largest private sector flour mill
Services Provided
Buhler commissioned us to tell the story of the Rupshi Mill, the most significant project in their three decade partnership with City Group and the largest private sector flour mill and silo complex in South Asia. We carried the project from creative concept through scripting to the finished films, with two formats, film and corporate photography, executed in three days on location outside Dhaka.
Our work for Buhler began in Vietnam and Shanghai. Twenty years of producing across Asia later, they trust our logistical and creative process enough to commission us wherever their next story is. If you are planning video production in Bangladesh, we have the local network to support it, from fixers and film permits to equipment and crew.

Description
City Group is one of the leading food conglomerates in Bangladesh, with more than 25,000 employees across 25 businesses. Its Rupshi Mill on the banks of the Shitalakshya River, 30 kilometers from Dhaka, is the largest private sector flour mill in South Asia. Eight milling lines produce 5,000 tons of flour a day, 39 silos hold 305,000 tons of grain, and a 3,600 meter conveying network moves it all at 600 tons an hour.
The story Buhler wanted told goes beyond machinery. Bangladesh loses an estimated 10 to 15 percent of its grain to poor storage after harvest, so Rupshi is also a food security project for the whole country. The challenge was to make the scale of the facility, and what it means for the nation, readable in under four minutes for audiences well beyond the milling industry.
Buhler first worked with our production company in Vietnam and Shanghai. They now trust us to deliver anywhere in Asia, and Dhaka made it eight projects in Bangladesh alone. We kept the crew tight, a Director, DOP, photographer, AC and drone pilot, and planned the three days so film and photography never competed for access. The aerials over the silo complex carry the film, because nothing at ground level communicates 39 silos standing on less than 22,000 square meters.
The finished Bangladesh testimonial video runs 3 minutes 40 seconds and is featured in the video highlights on Buhler’s global homepage, where it plays for every visitor to their corporate site. The film also anchors Buhler’s customer success story on the project. The corporate photography from the shoot gives Buhler a library to draw on long after the film’s release.
