Thibault, SGPAM’s head of sales for Asia, knew us as a reliable production partner, so when their head of communications said they needed a testimonial video about their infrastructure project in Phnom Penh, he brought us in. This was a multi-video project with 2 research days and 5 shooting days, and the conditions were tough. Summertime temperatures hitting 45 degrees, and we spent long stretches working 15 metres underground inside cast iron pipes filming the water network that supplies the city.
This is a pressurized water system, which is almost unheard of in Asia, delivering reliable clean water to a city and country that genuinely values it. The film needed to reflect both the scale of the engineering and the human impact.

Saint-Gobain PAM supplied 36 kilometres of ductile iron pipes for the Greater Phnom Penh Water Supply System Extension, part of the Bakheng Water Treatment Plant project that nearly doubles the city’s water production capacity to 1 million cubic metres per day. The pressurized system is a first of its kind in Cambodia, and ductile iron is the only material that can handle the pressure reliably over decades. The project has been supported by multiple government agencies and development partners over more than ten years.
SGPAM wanted this Phnom Penh testimonial video to show how they navigated bureaucracy, coordinated across government departments, and kept the project moving forward over more than a decade. That is a story most companies would struggle to tell on camera, but it is exactly the kind of proof that moves future clients from interest to commitment.
SGPAM took this film to conferences and trade shows across multiple countries as their flagship case study. Thibault’s sales team uses it as the lead piece in their portfolio because it shows what SGPAM can deliver in even the most challenging environments.
